RAVI

Together with Martin Horntveth, he started the band Jaga Jazzist in 1994. In the band, he initially played trumpet and contributed with vocals and rap, before eventually taking over as keyboardist. In 1999, he joined the band «Briskeby» as a keyboardist. In 2003, he was featured as a rapper on Folk & Røvere's album Bagateller, and became seriously known through the song «Utadæsjælåplevelse» which became a big hit. He is characterised by the fact that his music videos are subtitled. The subtitles are written in «Ravisk», i.e. using pure Norwegian pronunciation without double consonants, silent vowels and the like. In 2004, he was awarded the Norsk Målungdom dialect prize for his excellent use of the Vestfold dialect. Ravi hosted the series Landeplage on NRK television in 2007, 2008 and 2009. In the autumn of 2010, he hosted X Factor together with Guri Solberg. In 2011 he hosted Idol (TV programme) on TV2 and in autumn 2012 he hosted TV3's Småbruket.

After nine years without any releases, in 2015 he released the single «Du, du, du, du du du», which he sang with Stella Mwangi, with Martin Horntveth as producer. He took part in Hver gang vi møtes in January 2016. He will release his next album in 2016. He performs both with a band on concert and club stages and in solo format behind the piano on smaller stages. As a solo artist, he played several Norwegian summer festivals this year with great success. When Ravi embarks on tour in 2016, the rapper will visit Norway's nooks and crannies with a real band for the first time. This time, old and new Ravi hits are played with a bassist, percussionist and keyboardists as much as possible. He also sits down at the piano during the concert. The repertoire consists of highlights from his career with Folk & røvere and Ravi & DJ Løv, as well as brand new Ravi lyrics.
