What trends are we seeing in entertainment

Bringing employees together for good food and socialising is important for all companies. Many companies also want to give their employees something more in the form of entertainment. A comedian doing stand-up comedy and hired musicians playing up to the party and dancing are very popular, always have been and always will be. But we also see that many companies want to try something new and based on what is currently selling the most besides comedians and live music, we can see hints of new trends in entertainment.
Magicians are very popular at the moment, and we're not talking about the so-called magician with a wand and hat who conjures up a rabbit. We're talking about entertainers with a great sense of humour who make employees laugh just as much as a comedian, but who also come with a package of additional elements. Some magicians already start mingling with the guests and doing close-up tricks right in front of their eyes. The magician often continues to do this throughout the evening, with each table receiving a visit from the magician at their table. In addition, a magician can act as a host and perform both humour and magic stunts from the stage.
Another trend in showbiz is «hidden theatre». This is simply comedians stepping into a role, for example as a waiter at a dinner party. Here, too, guests get to know the «character» from the moment the aperitif is served and while the various dishes are being served. A lot of strange things happen among the guests, and the entertainer often takes on the role of host and makes little jokes from the stage without the guests realising that there is a hired comedian on stage. After the main course, we often reveal the comedian from the stage, much to the guests' surprise and laughter, followed by the comedian doing a little stand-up routine as himself from the stage. Hidden theatre can also be used at professional events, preferably with a talk that starts out serious and credible and the content becomes more and more special to one wave of laughter after another among the audience.
If we analyse trends in music aimed at the corporate market, we see that many companies want to make small adjustments, such as replacing a DJ with live music or vice versa. If we start with a DJ, we see that a new trend at the moment is to book this in combination with one or more instruments. This could be a DJ and saxophone, or you may want to add a violin, guitar, trumpet, congas drum or even vocalists. Then the DJ can play his regular set in 3 hours after dessert, but in addition sporadically be visited by an instrument or more throughout his «set» and we can guarantee that this rocks well and impresses your guests greatly. Once you connect instruments and possibly a vocalist, in addition to playing up to the party, you can be visited with small show elements between the dishes during the evening.
When it comes to live music, it's all about finding the right troubadour, duo or band for the right event, but there's a lot going on in this area of music at the moment too. If you consider that the age group ranges from around 25 to 65 and the desired purpose of the music is to fill the dance floor, live music is still a strong card to play at corporate events. What we're seeing as new trends is that many live music acts now have their own pedal boards to create extra effects and some bands also have extra background comps with effects that are particularly important at larger events such as 500+ or if you want a concert feel.
On our website we have set up a separate page with various entertainment concepts that are currently very popular, here we recommend everyone who is planning an event to take a look.
